Somewhere in Warsaw ..... platform at the Central Railway Station - underground railway station in Warsaw serving long-distance services. In 1972 it was decided to build a modern long-distance station. It was completed on 5 December 1975 and soon afterwards took over the operation of most of the long-distance trains in the Warsaw Railway Junction. It was built according to a design by Arseniusz Romanowicz with the cooperation of Piotr Szymaniak, although the design was changed several times during construction, which affected not only the quality of the work but also the functionality of the station. Construction was carried out at lightning speed in connection with the planned visit of Leonid Brezhnev. Soldiers of the People's Polish Army also worked on the site to speed up the work. Theoretically, no financial constraints were imposed on the designers during construction, only strict time constraints on completion. As a result, many elements were designed and built in a damaging rush, for example the roof and some plumbing, which was repaired. As of 24 July 2019, by decision of the provincial conservator, it is listed in the register of historical monuments. Scan from b&w negative, photo taken in 2021 year.
